What is this lesson?
Bob the blob is in trouble. He's fallen off a cliff. But wait, here he comes back up again! Watch Bob as he goes up and down, up and down.
Up and down are modifiers that describe something in relation to something else. We use them all the time, even without noticing. But it's important to know what they mean and how to use them.

How do I teach this lesson?
This lesson uses Bob the blob to teach two words, "up" and "down." The entire point of this lesson is to introduce these words and their meanings.
One idea is to say the words and have the students respond: Say "up" and have them point up; say "down" and have them point down.
