How do I teach this lesson?
This lesson teaches times of the day, and associates an activity with each time. What time is it? It is 6:15 pm. It is time to eat dinner.
This lesson has a lot of material to cover. The major focus is learning time, as you would see it on a clock. Flashcards reinforce what students have already watched on the DVDs. Another excellent resource for teaching this lesson is BINGO. We offer free BINGO downloads for this lesson, which you can use to make teaching this lesson a lot more fun.
Another option is to use a real clock and change the time to check your students' understanding. Lots of repetition will be needed so that students can learn this lesson well and accurately.
Teaching Hint:
Since time is based on numbers, practicing numbers can make learning time a lot easier. Now is a good time to review past numbers lessons. Games such as the Dice Game work really well to reinforce numbers 1-12, which correspond to the hours of the day.
