What is this lesson?
Small letters "a" through "z" are introduced in this lesson. Each letter is both spoken and pronounced. Fun 3D objects dance, bounce, or zing through the screen as each letter appears. "l ladder!!" "q queen!" "v violin!"
This lesson builds on the capital letters, as taught in the Capital ABC's lesson on The ABC's DVD. Between these two lessons, you will learn everything that you need to form words. The alphabet is the foundation of the English language, so learn this lesson well!

How do I teach this lesson?
This lesson introduces every letter of the alphabet in lowercase. Each letter is grouped with an object starting with that letter. It helps to learn the letters with the words, to jump start correct association and pronunciation.
This is a fun, easy lesson to teach. One reason is that there are so many resources provided that you can use to teach this lesson. There are flashcards and a flashcard sheet for this lesson. Plus, there are free BINGO downloads, and ideas for all sorts of games that you can play to make teaching fun. Match-up, Go Fish...
One great resource for teaching this lesson is plastic abc letters. These can be used in games, and in place of flashcards.
Be sure to make the connection between the capital ABC's and the small ABC's and how they are related. KidsWow is not a writing-based program, so it's not important to teach reading and writing, but it is important to give students some idea of the two alphabets and their uses.
Teaching Hint:
The letters "b" and "v" are very similar, so make sure to give lots of practice on these letters. Try to make the difference as clear as possible.
